Setup Type| RACE & Qualify Crew Chief Notes | Race strategy: Range: 38 laps: 1.84L/0.49gal per lap [4.08mpg] (typical usage) 40 laps: 1.75L/0.46gal per lap [4.35mpg] 43 laps: 1.62L/0.43gal per lap [4.65mpg]
*** IndyCar Road Series (100 laps): *** Preferred strategy: 38/38/24
Due to the date selected for the race you can expect pack racing, particularly at the start of the race/on restarts. As tyres wear the field should start to fan out however. Wear is biased towards the right rear, so some tyre management will be required if you are in clean air for a large part of the stint. Use WJ to adjust for this, depending on the RF vs RR tyre wear delta. The more the RR is worn vs the RF, the less positive WJ you can use. More positive WJ will give you significantly more lap time at the expense of much higher tyre wear. Explore this with different track temperatures.
*** Qualifying notes: *** This set expects you to run weight jacker (WJ) during the Q run in order to maximise speed. The amount will depend on your driving and the track conditions - lower temperatures = more WJ avaliable to use. As a baseline I used +10 clicks WJ for 91F/31C track temp.
