Tyre wear will be substantial and as such tyres will be much more an issue than fuel - be conscious of others using the undercut to get by as overtaking will be extremely difficult.
IndyCar Open Series (125 laps):
Preferred strategy: 45/45/35
With the lack of rear downforce (single plane/-6.00 degrees) and high average track temperatures (expect 115F-130F (46C-53C) track temperatures), driving as smooth and as patiently as possible will be crucial to success. Expect to lift from lap 1 if you aren't in clean air and ensure you hold your line low to avoid the transition on the exit of turn 4 from getting you loose. Arc turn 3/4 as much as you can, getting smoothly back on the gas much later than you think you need to. Wear should bias towards the RF, so using a small amount of positive weight jacker late into the stint can help with rotation.
